As one of the greatest cricketers of all time – he was the most successfulcaptain in the history of cricket with 41 wins in 57 Test matches for Australia – he is very popular in India, where cricket is the hot sport.

Magic Bus helps to improve the lives of children living in at-riskcommunities in the slums of Mumbai, where the majority of people live on or below the poverty line in difficult and overcrowded conditions.  Magic Bus creates ‘classrooms without walls’ for children from the area, using football, outdoor activities and games that allows each child to escape the harsh reality of life for a few hours every week.

Steve started his visit by meeting more than 300 of the staff at the Vodafone HQ in Mumbai. Mobile telecommunications group Vodafone is the Global Partner of Laureus and Steve discussed with them how sports values and the sporting ethos can help in the business world. This was followed by a lively cricket question and answer session, which included famous Indian cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle.

Tomorrow Steve will play sport with disadvantaged children from the slums of the Bombay Port Trust area of the city. We will report about this event tomorrow here.

Great that you can do this while the country is absolutely ga-ga for cricket with the IPL on the go.
