A Laureus fundraising Karting Challenge took place last night, from 6.00 – 10.00pm, at Greenwich Docklands Karting, an indoor track with fantastic facilities. There were plenty of teams involved and a raffle with prizes to keep the teams entertained when not racing. The event was a perfect opportunity to raise money for Laureus’ good causes and to make people aware of what the Foundation is all about while also serving as a great chance to have some fun together and build some team spirit.

All the participants arrived at 6,30pm and, after a brief safety meeting, they split into their teams. IWC brought three teams, Ogilvy Action two and Dialogue 141, Richemont, Shcreiber Ford and Laureus each had one.

At 7,30pm, after some practice and a qualifying lap the race began with Dialogue 141 and Laureus on the front row of the grid. After an hour and a half of extraordinary endurance racing, the results were in: The first two teams were both from Ogilvy Action with a team from IWC in third. The Laureus team however were disqualified for a dubious black flag received during the race!

The raffle took place after the customary photos with the trophies on the podium. Many tickets were bought and we are extremely grateful to all those who took part. Everybody had a great time with such a fun crowd involved and some competitive racing to get the adrenaline flying. The event was a great success on many levels with lots of people interested in Laureus assuring us they would visit our website and blog regularly.

We look forward to the next Fundraising Karting Challenge!

    Hi All,

Great night: competitive, fun and not too many black flags!

I just have no idea where all these bruises came from!

Thanks to IWC for the invite.
